He used to be married to his ex-wife DeAnna, an executive producer on Good Eats. The two later divorced in 2015. They have a daughter, Zoey together.
His wife is Elizabeth Ingram, an Atlanta restaurant designer. In 2018 the two got engaged. They got married on a boat in Charleston, South Carolina. they have two dogs a Boston terrier that the couple rescued in 2018 named Scabigail Van Buren and a terrier named Francis Luther.
Alton Brown Parents
He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California by his parents. His father Alton Brown Sr., was a publisher of the newspaper White County News, a media executive in Cleveland, Georgia, and the owner of radio station WRWH. As for his mother, her details are not available.
His father is apparently said to have committed suicide on Alton’s last day of sixth grade. He also has a sister named Marsha Brown- Brady.

Alton began his career as a cameraman when he was still in college as he had an interest in films. He then got to have eight years directing television commercials before heading to culinary school. His main goal was to make his own food shows.
This came about when he did not like the food shows that used t be aired. He got his dream to work as he has been on Food Network for nearly 20 years, 14 of which he spent as the host, writer, and showrunner of a cooking/comedy/history/ science show called Good Eats. Brown also used to be the host and the culinary commentator of shows such as Cutthroat Kitchen, and Iron Chef America.
He also wrote eight books on food and cooking. He also toured two live culinary variety shows to sold-out houses around the country, as well as on Broadway.
