Dr. Joya Griffin Education
For her educational background, Joya attended the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2006. While at the school she was the recipient of a number of awards and scholarships such as the Dermatology Service Award for her research on Malassezia otitis externa and for her aptitude in clinical dermatology.
Immediately after graduating Highschool Joya went to the CA Berwyn and Aurora Animal Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois where she completed her Internship. During this period she received the intern “Abstract Award” for her presentation on Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus.
In 2007 she returned to Cornell University for a residency in Dermatology. She served one year as an instructor of dermatology and had the privilege of teaching fourth-year clinical students as well as lecturing to underclassmen on immune-mediated and bacterial, fungal, skin diseases after she completed her residency.
In 2010 she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and has a special interest in fungal and immune-mediated skin disease as well as feline dermatology.
