Brent Renaud An American journalist was killed as they were traveling to film refugees by Russian forces in the town of Irpin outside the capital of Kyiv. Another Journalist was also wounded by Russian forces in the town of Irpin.
According to Andriy Nebytov, Brent Renaud, a 50-year-old filmmaker, was killed when Russian troops opened fire. It was on Facebook that Nebytov posted a graphic photo purportedly of Renaud’s body. He also shared pictures of his media credentials issued by The New York Times and his American Passport.

Juan Arredondo an American Documentary filmmaker was also injured in the attack. He and Renaud were on their way to film people leaving Kyiv when they crossed a checkpoint and came under fire according to Arredondo.
The Chief of Kyviv Police Nebytov shared that Renaud paid with his life for trying to highlight the aggressor’s ruthlessness, cruelty, and ingenuity. Alongside his brother Craig Renaud Brent has reported from a number of global hotspots over the past two decades including, Afghanistan Egypt, and Iran.
In 2015 the pair on a Peabody Award 2015 for an eight-part documentary for Vice News about a school in Chicago for students with severe emotional issues.
